Reminders of
Captain Isaiah Clark's stewardship still grace the property:
the signature of his
13 year old son Jeremiah scrawled on the back of a door;
the
giant spruce tree on the front lawn brought home from
Norway as a seedling by Captain Clark on his ship, the
Electra; guestrooms named after the Clark family women;
framed historic documents and photographs throughout the
building, and his meticulous attention to detail throughout
the construction process, including the installation of
beautiful, wide plank hardwood floors.

In 1835, his original saltbox design was expanded into a
three-quarter Cape through the addition of a parlor, a
kitchen, an upstairs sitting room and one additional
bedroom.
After the
Captain's passing, his
heirs retained possession of the property until 1909.
In 1985, the building was renovated and turned into a Bed
and Breakfast. In October 2006, Innkeepers Steve and
Philomena purchased the Inn.
